A Life of Sacrifice

May 1, 2019

Betty J Shields truly believed in helping the less fortunate and sharing with them the love of Jesus.

She was a great supporter of the Noxapater, Mississippi project currently under construction.

Unfortunately, the area that NAPS is reaching out to in Mississippi is very underserved medically, educationally and is one of the most poverty stricken areas in the region. NAPS's goal is to establish a clinic that offers free health care, a school (most of the schools in area are failing) and a Medical Evangelism training post for young people with a missionary heart to serve others.  Mrs. Betty Shields was one of the biggest supporters of this project and it was always her dream to come to the Mississippi Mission site before she died. There wouldn’t be a day that would go by where she didn’t ask her granddaughter(Marlo Paul, MD- NAPS Medical Director) or her daughter(Debbie Jackson, RN -Noxapater, MS mission project leader) about its progress. Her desire was to see the people in that community served.

Right now the Noxapater, Mississippi Mission is in great need of housing to accommodate the young missionary students.

At its completion, the NAPS Noxapater, MS Mission Center will be named in memory of Betty Jean Shields. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers you donate to the Mississippi Project
