19 NAPS student volunteers, along with Dr. Anthony Paul (president/founder) left Huntsville, AL early Monday morning (February 14) for the interiors of Suriname, South America. They arrived safely on Tuesday (February 15) and are beginning the journey to reach the descendants of run-away slaves --- long neglected and untouched by society. The People of the Bush, as they are called, have no access to medical care and are crying for our help.
This group is the Year of Dedication team (YOD7). They are giving a full year of service to work for those less fortunate. Prior to this mission, they've been working in rural Hollandale and Arcola, MS and Gainesville, AL providing tutoring and free medical care to low-income residents.
Now that they are responding to the cry of follow suffering brothers and sisters in Suriname, they need your support and prayers more than ever. Another team of NAPS student volunteers will be joining this crew on March 4, along with Rick Cole, D.D.S., M.S. and Marlo Hodnett, M.D. (both graduates of Loma Linda University) to provide much needed medical and dental assistance.
