NAPS Guyana’s first mission in 2009 was to Sand Creek, Rupununi.
Sixteen members of NAPS USA went to move the work forward in the
Rupununi area. Two additional villages were entered and evangelistic
meetings held. Several people were baptized and a small company
continues to meet in Shea. A sub group from the US Virgin Island
came to Guyana to assist Georgetown NAPS in completing a small
home for a very needy family. The team consisted of 5 students and
their teacher who is also a member of NAPS USA. The house was
successfully completed in three full working days.
In May, NAPS Guyana took a trip to Shea, and conducted a Friday evening
service. Pastor was able to conduct the family life series, and to elect
departmental elders for various departments of the group. They had about
17 baptized members and 13 prospective members with 12 Children, but on
Sunday 5 souls were baptized, which increased the members from 17 to 22
now.
In December 2009, NAPS Rupununi had to make an emergency trip to
Shea. Apparently, another denomination had gone into the area and was
trying to convert members of the new company. A call was made to
members in Sand Creek and a team was immediately dispatched to Shea.
Later that month, thirteen members of NAPS USA went to Guyana to
finish a building in Sand Creek, revisit Shea and complete fact finding in
Suriname.
